Cycling SA and Ride-Online membership
Ride-Online offers cyclists a cheap and affordable option to obtain a Cycling SA membership.
There are three different Cycling SA memberships or licensing options for riders who want to take part in an officially sanctioned event. It is important to note you have to have one of the three options to take part in ANY Cycling SA sanctioned event. (Full details at www.cyclingsa.com/memberships)
Cycling SA Day Licence
- A Cycling SA member is entitled to enter sanctioned Cycling SA events Limited membership benefits are available.
- The licence is only valid for one day for one event Payable on entry to an event, or at the event.
Cost: R50 per day per event
Cycling SA Membership
- Valid for one year from date of purchase and purchased via www.cyclingsa.com or via their mobile app.
- A Cycling SA member is entitled to enter any event, irrespective of discipline, without having to purchase a day license.
- A member is allowed to participate in a national series event but will not be eligible for national or provincial selection.
- Membership of Cycling SA is the most basic form of license and is an agreement of the rider
to abide by the rules of the event in which they participate. - Cycling SA offers membership benefits including insurance cover and discounts to Training Peaks which can be seen at www.cyclingsa.com/memberships/membership-benefits.
- Following a recent decision by Cycling SA you now DO need to belong to a club to have a Membership.
Cost: Youth (16 & under): R150 + provincial fees, Adult: R250 + provincial fees
Cycling SA Domestic Racing Licence
- Valid for a calendar year only and purchased via www.cyclingsa.com or via their mobile app.
- You need to have a valid Cycling SA Membership to buy a SA Domestic Racing Licence.
- Eligible for provincial and national selection.
- Eligible to earn UCI points.
- Eligible to participate in international UCI events (when upgraded to UCI racing licence).
- Must be affiliated to a recognised club.

Cost: You need to have a valid Cycling SA Membership, so R250 + an additional R500 + provincial
fees (junior, U23, elite or masters)
